Although I’ve got mad love for Lupe (Food and Liquor was an amazing album), this band is not very good. Frankly, I think his skills as a lyracist are better suited to hip hop than to rock.

It has to be said Lupe Fiasco well and truly blew my doo rag off. Credit where credit's due it was much largely thanks to Mr.Fiasco's virgin tight six piece band who took their own brand of pop infused acid jazz to another echelon ending EVERY track with !!!'esque dread lock unravelling pysch out jams, which as you would've guessed went down extremely well with me and my purple tie-dye top.

Lupe Fiasco will become 'Percival Fats'
Despite many denials, the rumour is that Lupe Fiasco will take on a metamorphosis into someone called 'Percival Fats' and be a member of a band called Japanese Cartoon.
Will there also be a physical transformation into a musical lard-arse...hehe. And will that be on YouTube also?

A blog post on the band's MySpace profile, however, claims that "Percival Fats (Born Percival Hindenburg-Fats) Is not Lupe Fiasco (Born Wasalu Muhammad Jaco). Although, he is a dear friend." The post continues, "Lupe does finance the band but is not, I repeat, not the singer in Japanese Cartoon. He is however the producer and we value his participation very much."
Lupe has a new DVD coming out in March, and claims that his upcoming album will be his last as a solo rapper.
